On Tuesday night, we hosted the fifth installation of our Flameside Chat series with special guest Dr. Bruce Johnson, James Graham Brown Professor of Economics. That evening Dr. Johnson gave a rousing 30-minute lecture on the Madness of the NCAA – touching on hot topics like student athletes vs. paid employees, coaches' salaries, and the "NCAA cartel." He then spent the remaining time answering questions from the live audience submitted on YouTube and Twitter. We had folks from the around the country participating in the chat. You'll remember, the concept of the Flameside Chat is simple – to simulate an interactive classroom or convocation experience and make it accessible to all alumni, parents, and friends.

Apparently, Rubinfeld testified that the NCAA is not a cartel but that is different from what he wrote in his textbook. Big money consultants, go figure!
