Ohio State University and Michigan State University went into this past Thursday as contenders in the 2013 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament’s Sweet Sixteen. Both schools have rich pedigrees related to the Tournament. Michigan State has been to 8 Final Fours and won 2 Championships, while Ohio State has made it to 11 Final Fours and come away with 1 Championship win.
This year, the 2 schools were not only fighting for the opportunity to play in the NCAA Tournament’s Elite Eight, they were also in contention to advance from the “Sustainable 16″ to the “Environmental Eight” in Enviance’s Second Annual Environmental March Madness Tournament, a national competition recognizing American colleges and universities for outstanding environmental academics and sustainability programs. Carlsbad, California-based Enviance was founded in 1999 and is a leading provider of Environmental enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, with more than 17,000 users in 49 countries. The Environmental March Madness tournament was conceived by Enviance to reward schools on their environmental merit, regardless of size or NCAA-standing.
