First fellow nerd to figure out what this is and explain it in the comments gets my applause.
*I would give credit for the diagram but it was posted on pinterest without credit and I can't figure out who to give due.

Electrical potentials (lightning) of a hurricane or other type of storm (tornado?).
The most absurd venn diagram of 1234567 ever?
Venn diagram of all combinations of one through seven.
Yes, a messed up venn diagram of the integers 1 – 7. The bold curve containing all the 1’s was what gave me the clue. NOTE: 137 is in the wrong place. It should be in the little space to the left.
I am only half applauding. There’s more to it…
And, if you look at the diagram for a single number, an outline of Casper the Friendly Ghost, before they added his feet.
OK, I’ll clap for Rick.
The diagram is rotationally symmetric (if you rotate the shape for any one nuymber it will exactly coincide with the next number shape). Or put another way, the shape for each number is identical.
I read the explanations, but I’m still pretty sure this is just a paint by numbers.
The diagram appears to be from Branko Grünbaum, Venn Diagrams II, Geombinatorics, Volume II, Issue 2, (1992) 25-32.
